List of Dog Rescue Groups and Shelters

One More Time…..

ANIMALS ARE NOT DISPOSABLE!Below is a list of dog rescue groups and animal shelters in Colorado. There are many who still do not know who or what Petfinder is which is usually the most comprehensive list. Before you run out and get a pet from a breeder or store, please take a look at some of these. Purebred, mutts, old and young, these places will have them all.

When updating this list I removed the known puppy mills who call themselves “rescue.” Some of the others I cannot attest to. The first name in the rescue section All Breed Rescue Network have very heavily screened people and there are no puppy mill types allowed. They are the only ones that I am certain about.

The first line is my favourite of seniors who need homes. There might not be many as myself who will drive to another state for an old dog but if you are, these are great places to look at.
